Getting a PMP certificate is like an effective stepping-stone to the door of opportunity. The PMP certificate proves that we have certain project management awareness and operational skills, and the ability to make the correct judgments with the correct thinking.
PMBOK Guide is shown to us as the official textbooks of the PMP text, including the five process groups, ten knowledge areas, 49 process, and other related knowledge points. It has introduced all aspects of a project completely from the beginning to the ending. After learning it, you will have a deeper understanding of the program and the work of project management.
How Should We Prepare for the Project Management Professional without Any Basis?
1.Participate in the Training Classes and Learn the PMBOK Guide after the Class.
2.Finish the simulation Questions.
3.The Summary of the ImportantKnowledge Points and the Test Points.
1.Participate in the Training Classes and Learn the PMBOK Guide after the Class:
Every course of the training classes is mandatory. There is no reason that you will not attend the class. Because we have the opportunity to learn the knowledge of project management from the training teacher who has rich experience in project management. The teacher has a deep understanding of project management and the PMP exam, which is of great help to our study and passes the PMP exam. It is better to have a brief look at the PMBOK guide before each class. In this way, I will read both books during training courses and after attending the training, but I must focus on the PMBOK guide.
PMBOK is the standard of project management published by the PMI, and most of the questions of the PMP test are based on the content of the PMBOK guide. The professional terms and vocabularies in the exam questions are all from the PMBOK. I have read the PMBOK guide twice this time, but it is not enough to understand the knowledge points better. For the PMP candidates, they should read it at least three times to try to read through the PMBOK guide.
2.Finish the simulation Questions:
For the PMP exam, it is very important to do exercises and finish the simulation questions. Its purpose is not only to test our learning and understanding of project management but more importantly to let us know what the exam questions look like and what the exam points are. Before I took my first exam, I have not finished the simulation questions because I did not have enough time for my busy work. I became confused with the real exam questions during the exam because I did not understand the testing way of the knowledge and the key points of the questions. Finally, the exam time is not enough, and there are many questions that are not finished.
So finishing the practice exercises and the simulation questions very important. And according to the time of the exam, we only test our testing speed to get our own speed of finishing the test to adapt or adjust it slowly in the process of doing simulation questions.
3.The Summary of the ImportantKnowledge Points and the Test Points:
The content of the PMBOK guide is large, and there are many test points of the PMBOK.For example, there are some knowledge points about professional terms and the input and output of the processes of the project management. But we had all studied project management in our spare time after we had finished the work. Time and energy are limited. So I have sorted the notes of the key knowledge points of each section in the process of reading. Such as, earned value management, the calculation formula, critical path, critical chain, and other terms and related algorithms are needed to be reviewed.
The input and output of 47 process groups of project management the most difficult to memorize. You can list the 47 processes in the Excel table and then fill in the input and output of each process according to your own understanding, so as to finish the practice and get familiar with them. There are also summary materials of relevant knowledge points sent to us in the final stage of preparing for the exam, as well as the knowledge points that may be easily confused. These are the experience and insights of preparing for the PMP exam. Be sure to spend some time reading them.
The last thing is about the exam. You will understand if you have finished the simulation examination questions. 200 questions are needed to be finished in four hours, including the time costin the bathroom and the time cost on painting the sheet., Time is tight. You need to balance speed to finish the test in the process of examination. I think that the plan that one hour is spent in completing 70 questions is relatively reasonable. And you also won’t make the wrong decision because of the quick understanding of the title. There will be half an hour or so for you to check again.
